He Must Have Heard a Teardrop

(Big Bob Young)
He Must Have Heard A Teardrop

Today I heard it said that my God is dead
And Jesus just a man to be admired
His teachings they were nice all the things he said
Though not divinely inspired

There’s no Holy Spirit free on the earth
And prayers are to quiet children’s fears
But they’re mere words that make us feel good
They only fall on deaf ears

CH But he must have heard a teardrop
As it fell upon the floor
For from that moment on he touched me
And changed me for ever more

From that day on I grew hungry
So I turned to the word to be fed
And the truth that I found there was that it’s not God
But man who is dead

But through Jesus Christ we can live
For he died on the cross for our sins
And our heavenly father is quick to forgive
In him a new life begins

CH Aw he must have heard a teardrop
As it fell upon the floor
For from that moment on he touched me
And changed me for ever more

Wrote my name in the Lamb’s book of life
And changed me for evermore
